Startup Criteria

The

Startups

The startups’ stages of development may range from the Friends & Family Stage to Angel Investments to Seed Funding.

Friends & Family.  Capital provided by unaccredited investors, such as friends and family members with a net worth of under $1 million in income.

Angel Investments.  Angel investments are typically one of the earliest equity investments made in startup companies. Angel Investors are private wealthy individuals who are willing to finance a business for a share in the company. Often these networks are based on regional, industry, or academic affiliation.

Seed Funding.  These financings are often comparatively modest amounts of capital provided to inventors or entrepreneurs to finance the early development of a new product or service. This stage represents the initial capital used to do product and/or service development, patent filings, market surveys and research and building a management team and developing a business plan.  The emphasis is on examining business idea feasibility and getting the firm ready to commence operations.

The line-up will be announced two weeks prior to the event.

 The

Application

Participants must fill out an online application to be considered for the event. The top ten applicants will be notified two to three weeks prior to the event.  The application is due 12:00 pm EST on October 20th, 2016.
